ETWINNING PROJECT

TITLE: The Fruit Fan Club
OBJECTIVES: To promote fruit consumption among students as a healthy habit.
To make students aware of the benefits of fruit.
To share experiences with other countries with health projects at their schools.
To explore the artistic and didactic opportunities fruit can offer in AICLE.
To give students the chance to have contact with other European schools that share common activities and interests.
To share in the Fruit Fan club the activities and pictures.
ACTIVITIES:
1-     Fruit fan club ID card: the first activity will consist of joining the club. Every member of the club will have an ID card with the name of the blog, so they can log and see all the published works. In that ID card they will write their names, country house and age, but instead of a picture they will draw their profile fruit that will represent them. The teachers will provide the cards to the students and send to the coordinator a list of the members, so their profile data can appear on the blog.
2-     Fruit masks: the youngest students can create their own masks of fruit and take group or individual pictures to be published.
3-     Compositions: fruit names are some of the first vocabulary children learn in their English lessons, their compositions, pictures or activities can be sent and added to the blog.
4-     Fruit art: using fruit, fruit pictures or fruit images children can do artistic compositions the same way the painter Arcimboldo did. The results will be scanned and sent so they can be blogged.
5-     The fruit song contest: Fruit can be present in many aspects of our daily life, sometimes. Let’s investigate in what famous songs we can find fruit. The activity consists of choosing a song from your country where fruit is named (it doesn’t have to be about fruit, it just have to name some fruit or be connected to fruit somehow). Children will sing it and translate it into English. The videos will be blogged so everybody can know famous songs about fruit from everywhere.
The schools that join this project can do some or all the activities, according to their interests and needs.
Any idea and suggestion will be welcomed.
